This piece was inspired by the story ‘Metamorphosis’ written by Franz Kafka and follows the theme of transformation. I explore the transition between two forms shown by gradually morphing the ends of the hair into bird silhouettes. The dynamic sense of movement in this artwork is created by line work and helps to add to the transition theme. Pen work is a common theme throughout my work but this piece has a unique graphic style that makes it separate to other work. I was influenced by the artists Kris Trappeniers and Shelley Castillo Garcia.
